Precision Engineering Machine Shop seeks a Product and Development Engineer to execute the technical work required to design, develop and industrialise new products and the manufacturing processes of these products, reduce costs of existing products without compromising the quality. Conduct technical investigations on products and processes as and when required.
We are looking for someone with solid machining( setting up, matching designs and CNC programming, tooling and 3d modelling experience.
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Megatronics or similar.
- 5 years’ experience in high-volume manufacturing environment.
- CNC Machining experience (turning and milling) would be advantageous
- Solid machining( setting up, matching designs and CNC programming ), tooling and 3d modelling experience.
Prototype and Product Development
Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
Understanding of PLC / SCADA
Knowledge and understanding of product manufactured and technologies employed
Knowledge of company ERP system and other company systems
Knowledge of company systems and procedures
Proficient computer skills – 3D parametric design package, preferably Solid Edge / Solid Works, MS Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project,
Organizational and planning ability
Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Good problem-solving skills
Good technical report writing skills
Solid machining( setting up, matching designs and CNC programming ), tooling and 3d modelling experience.
New product introduction; from designing to releasing product, following the concept, development, risk mitigation, qualification process and company’s design guidelines for optimal manufacturing process and cost.
Utilise the Development team as a resource for realising concepts and processes
Perform rapid prototyping using available resources i.e., 3D printing, Development facility etc.
Manage outside contractors
Customer support with regards to RFQs, considering manufacturing feasibility, accurate costing, and meeting customer requirements with quick turnaround time.
Perform and assist with technical investigations, compile technical reports detailing findings and recommendations
Validate new products to ensure high durability, performance and customer satisfaction.
Design new test equipment, assembly jigs and fixtures making use of automation wherever possible.
Compilation of manufacturing process documentation for current and new projects.
The construction of working models from the minimum of drawings and information.
Monitor quality reports on existing products and contribute with the analysis process by proposing and implementing corrective actions.
Conduct benchmarking exercises to ensure company is abreast with new technology, to maintain competitive advantage.
Investigate Engineering change requests and action promptly.
Monthly report feedback on project status.
