Description

ICT Company seeks a Senior Network Administrator.

Own car and valid driver’s licence, English and Afrikaans

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

Microsoft Certifications - MCSE

6 + years' IT experience

 

Technical:

Thorough advanced Windows server configuration and troubleshooting knowledge

Experienced troubleshooting using monitoring toolsets (e.g. Zabbix)

Good configuration and troubleshooting knowledge of backup solutions (Veeam,)

Excellent virtualisation knowledge and experience, including high-availability and replication using Hyper-V

Good knowledge of network topologies, routing and NAT

Solid understanding of MS Exchange and Office365

Knowledge and working experience with firewalls and endpoint security solutions

Knowledge and working experience with cloud platform technologies

Administration and troubleshooting on Linux platforms

Experience troubleshooting infrastructure supporting third party applications

Knowledge and working experience using PowerShell

Knowledge and working experience VOIP/Asterisk

Knowledge and working experience with PFsense, Fortigate

Knowledge and working experience with OpenVPN

Good working experience in a SQL environment

Knowledge and working experience with the Zoho Stack

Duties & Responsibilities

 

Job Purpose:

The Network Administrator will be responsible and accountable for managing the company’s infrastructure and

production environment, to ensure optimal performance, high availability and cost effectiveness of all IT

production systems and services.

 

I.T Infrastructure

Ensure maximum up-time

Ensure accurate and early response

Ensure approved configuration are in place

Give operational support

Supply system management information

Provide system commissioning and implementation support

Network management - Plan and schedule network operation

Provide hardware and software support - According to best practice

Ensure conformance to quality standards

Plan, implement, co-ordinate, maintain and rationalize network software and hardware as well as

changes

Liaise with service organisations

Reduce operational cost

 

IT security management

Develop emergency, recovery and contingency plan - Emergency, recovery and contingency plans

Ensure that backups are in place, run successfully, and adhere to backup policy

Ensure virus infection on IT site is minimised

Prevent the use of unlicensed software

Ensure IT site security

Determine user training/awareness requirement

 

Maintain records and statistics

Monitor availability of IT equipment and related equipment

Monitor problem solving

Keep record and statistics with regard to operational information, network infrastructure, user location,

network hardware, software, data media, data, violations, etc.

 

Administer IT site infrastructure

Develop and maintain IT site plan

Ensure that the quality of hardware installations complies with standards

Initiate plans to improve the quality of hardware installations where there are problems

Identify hardware and software upgrade requirements

Provide management and status reports

Pro-active identification of potential IT problem areas

Ensure availability of computer and computer related equipment are within defined parameters

Ensure that new system requirements can be adhered to

Provide information necessary for capacity planning and analysis

Plan deployment of software and users on servers and work stations

 

Liaise with users with regard to IT matters

Participate in system commissioning including testing and acceptance

Determine user training requirements

Advise user with regard to training requirements

Provide IT business advice

Provide technical consultation and advice

 

Provide feedback and reports

Provide regular feedback/reports to users with regard to problem solving, quality of data, customer

needs, network planning, environmental problems and resources

 

Administer help desk/problem handling system

Register network problems - Maintain Problem Register

Do Third line fault correction

Establish problem-solving procedure.

 

Configuration management

Implement configuration management model

Submit configuration amendment reports

Manage the warranties of all hardware and software distributed

Control licences

Integrate configuration data
